Good point. The following is from a February, 1999 piece by Mollie Dickerson. The republican appointed US Attorney in Little Rock, Arkansas, Charles Banks, REFUSED to participate in Attorney General William Barr's order that the FBI launch a politically motivated inquiry into Bush's opponent.
''In
a report to the Justice Department dated Oct. 16, 1992, [Charles] Banks indicated
that [William] Barr's desire to expedite the Whitewater investigation smacked of
improper political use of the federal judicial system.''
According to Dickerson, Banks told AG William Barr: "I believe it amounts to prosecutorial misconduct and violates the most basic fundamental rule of Department of Justice policy. I cannot be a party to such actions and believe that such would be detrimental to the Department of Justice, FBI, this office and to the President of the United States."

That's right. Barr pressured a US Attorney to use the power of his office to launch a criminal investigation that would corruptly influence the presidential election just weeks away. Fortunately the US Attorney in Little Rock, refused.
And now we're to expect Barr to NOT be just as corrupt?
