The Imaginary "Biden Rule"

No, there is no "Biden Rule."  The republicans like to pretend there is such a thing, but there is not.



Biden DID call for the nomination to be put on hold until AFTER election
day. That would give the Senate most of November, all of December, and
most of January to vote on confirmation.



He did NOT, though, call for the nomination to be placed on hold until a new president takes office (or until the current presidential term ends).



Here's the part of Biden's floor speech the obstructionist right wingers keep leaving out:



"President Bush should consider following the practice of a majority of his predecessors and not — and not — name a nominee until after the November election is completed
