Is This Collusion?

Mueller's report explains that Trump's campaign manager met with a known Russian intelligence operative to discuss campaign strategy and messaging, to identify battleground states, and to hand over polling data.

What would we have to ADD to that meeting agenda to establish that indeed there was collusion?

Yes, Manafort Colluded with Russian Intelligence Operative

Mueller could not have been more clear. Yes, Trump's campaign worked with a known Russian intelligence operative.

"Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort met in New York City with his long-time business associate Konstantin Kilimnik, who the FBI assesses to have ties to Russian intelligence . " - Vol. I; Pg. 6

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/04/18/us/politics/mueller-report-document.html#g-page-14

"Manafort briefed Kilimnik on the state of the Trump Campaign and Manafort's plan to win the election. That briefing encompassed the Campaign's messaging and its internal polling data.  According to Gates, it also included discussion of "battleground" states, which Manafort identified as Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota." - Mueller Report; Vol. I; page 138

When the campaign manager sits down with Russian intelligence to discuss the campaign, the plan, the polling, and the targeted states, that's collusion.

______________

Russian intelligence operative Konstantin Kilimnik is mentioned 155 times in the Mueller report on Trump's collusion with Russians.

Guess how many times he was mentioned in the FBI report on Hillary's emails?

Did you guess ''zero''?

Smart thinking.

Trump Was Not Cleared

No, Trump was not cleared.

When a campaign manager hands off secret internal polling data to a known Russian intelligence operative, that's collusion.

When Trump puts in a request for Russia to hack emails and Russia goes to work on it within hours of his request, that's collusion.

When Trump agrees to soften US policy toward Russia in exchange for help defeating HRC, that's collusion.

Who told you Trump had been cleared? Pale?

He hasn't seen the Mueller report.

Manafort Met with Kilimnik

Yes, we know Trump's campaign manager met with a Russian intelligence operative; his own LAWYERS let it slip.

From "The Atlantic"  -

"When Paul Manafort’s lawyers accidentally revealed sensitive information about his contacts with a suspected Russian spy on Tuesday because of a redacting snafu, it wasn’t merely a blip. Rather, it was the latest in a series of apparent missteps the legal team for President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman has made in the nearly two years that it’s been defending the 69-year-old operative in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe."

"On Tuesday, their mistake was careless. The redaction error showed that prosecutors apparently believe that Manafort shared internal Trump polling data with the suspected spy Konstantin Kilimnik during the campaign."

CaG Upset Manafort is Targeted

Christians are Good
. . .  In my professional life I've sought to treat people fairly - meaning in a search of justice and without prejudice. The vendetta against Manafort as stand-in for Trump is all too obvious to anyone with a lick of sense. Of course I realize you aren't in that camp and so lust for blood.

Manafort Met Kilimnik in Secret - Lied to Feds

When Trump's campaign manager meets with a Russian who's KNOWN to be linked to a Kremlin intelligence agency . . .

When the conspirators leave by separate doors after exchanging the secret files . . .

When Trump's campaign manager LIES to the feds about the secret data exchange meeting  . . .

It's hard for them to claim there was no collusion.

The shadiness of the conspirators sneaking out by separate exits drew the judge's attention. It's now a matter of public record. They simply can't claim anymore that there was no collusion.

Why Manafort Colluded with Russia

Why did  Manafort turn over campaign polling data to the Russians?

It could be for more than one reason.  For one thing, he owed the Russians money, and this was a way to make good on that.

This of course, presupposes that the Russians would view polling data as something of value. We know for a fact that Putin has ADMITTED he favored Trump in the 2016 election, so that's not a presupposition. It's a fact. The Russians NEEDED that data, and valued it.

Do do what? To elect Trump, of course. Who'd then use his power to ease sanctions on Russia; to weaken western alliances; to undermine US democracy; and to parrot Kremlin talking points --- all of which Trump has delivered on.

Trump Campaign Tied to Russian Intelligence

"Mueller just connected a top Trump campaign staffer to Russian intelligence"

Every time the right wingers say, "No evidence of collusion, I have to wonder why the talking heads like Chuck Todd, for instance, fail to cite this well-known fact:

"Paul Manafort, the former chair of Donald Trump’s
presidential campaign, had a long professional relationship with a man
connected to Russian intelligence. And special counsel Robert Mueller
says that man, Konstantin Kilimnik, was still working with Russian
intelligence in 2016, when Trump was running for president.

Kilimnik had worked with Manafort since 2005, helping with Manafort’s clients in Ukraine, and continued to talk with Manafort’s team during the election.

Mueller’s team made the link public on Wednesday, saying that Kilimnik was still working with Russian intelligence when he was communicating with the Trump team in September and October of 2016".

Name-calling, arm-flapping, and appeals to mockery will not change the facts, boys. *S*

"The Mueller link between Kilimnik and Russian intelligence comes from court documents filed in the case of a lawyer who worked with Manafort and Rick Gates."

Case 1:18-cr-00031-ABJ Document 19 Filed 03/27/18

"That Gates and Person A were directly communicating in September and October 2016 was pertinent to the investigation. Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agents assisting the Special Counsel’s Office assess that Person A has ties to a Russian intelligence service and had such ties in 2016. During his first interview with the Special Counsel’s Office, van der Zwaan admitted that he knew of that connection, stating that Gates told him Person A was a former Russian Intelligence Officer with the GRU."

We Saw It Coming

It's not like we didn't see this coming. Shortly after Manafort joined the Trump campaign, Eli Lake of Bloomberg News wrote, ''Trump just hired his next scandal.''

''His convention strategy is in the hands of a former lobbyist who's been linked to one corruption scheme after another.''
