Squintly: If anyone in the gopper side of the senate is a "maverick," it's Susan Collins.



"From 1987 to 2015, McCain voted with the Republican Party 87 percent of the time . . . So McCain’s body of work in the Senate doesn’t look very maverick-y, even if he has been slightly less likely to vote with his party than the median senator. A real maverick probably looks more like Maine Sen. Susan Collins, who has voted with her party a little less than 60 percent of the time . . . since she joined the Senate in 1997."

Limbaugh Says McCain Is Nuts

Huffington Post did a piece on Limbaugh predictions regarding the upcoming general election campaign:

"We're going to get the worst pictures of McCain. We're going to get him looking tired. We're going to hear references to his forgetfulness. "Isn't it just a shame?" And if that doesn't work, then they're going to do stories on the fact he's nuts. Just mark my words."

Interesting. Rush doesn't tell us that they going to allege that he's nuts; suggest that he's nuts; hint that he's nuts; no, they're going to point to ''the fact'' that McCain IS nuts."

McCain Says US Wasting Troops' Lives

In a stunning display of perhaps accidental truth-telling, US Senator John McCain admitted that the US has "wasted" the lives of US troops in Iraq.

Americans are very frustrated, and they have every right to be," McCain said Wednesday on CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman." "We've wasted a lot of our most precious treasure, which is American lives."

Earlier, presidential candidate, Senator Barack Obama, apologized for making a similar statement about the wasting of US lives in Iraq.
