The Washington Post's fact-checker, Glenn Kessler, gave Three Pinocchios to the claims that Warren's DNA test revealed she has less indigenous American ancestry that the "average American."
Kessler notes that the RNC has muddied the water by inappropriately comparing Warren's test to one done using a 23andMe data base. The RNC pushed the false narrative that Warren's percentage of Native American ancestry was LESS than that of the average American, when in fact, the study found just the opposite.
Kessler reports that "she had 10 times more than the individuals" from the comparison data base Warren's geneticist used in his study. Kessler concluded that Warren's "claim to some Native American heritage is much stronger than most European Americans."
