Fox News, PIPA, and Misinformation

From: ''The Science of Fox News: Why Its Viewers are the Most Misinformed''

Surveys ''find that those who watch Fox are more likely to be misinformed, their views of reality skewed in a right-wing direction. In some cases, the studies even show that watching more Fox makes the misinformation problem worse.''

Then there is this from PIPA: “Those who receive most of their news from Fox News are more likely than average to have misperceptions.”  PIPA found that 80 percent of Fox viewers embraced at least one of three Iraq-related misperceptions -- more so than did consumers of OTHER news sources - - and ESPECIALLY more than did those who get their news from PBS or from NPR. Stunningly (Or perhaps we should have EXPECTED this.) Fox watchers were found to be MORE LIKELY to be misled than were those who got their news from reputable sources.
