His enablers and apologists blame the pandemic for Trump’s
recession. The fact, though, is that other countries treated the
pandemic seriously, unlike Trump, who dismissed it; and then didn’t
suffer the economic ruin Trump heaped on the US.
According to a
report in the Washington Post, based on data from the Federal Reserve,
the US was in a manufacturing “recession for all of 2019.”

before that, US News & World Report ran a piece in September, 2017
about the looming “Trump Slump.” That is, we SAW the Trump Recession
coming LONG before the pandemic hit.
It wasn’t the pandemic that
wrecked our economy; it was Trump’s mismanagement of the pandemic. We
saw as early as September, 2017, that Trump’s policies were “damaging
the fundamentals undergirding U.S. economic growth . . . [that he had]
already degraded the nation's business and investment environment.”
