RNC Lie? Say It Ain't So

Who in a million years would ever have imagined that the RNC would lie about what a Democratic candidate for president said?

Here's the statement from RNC Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan:
“It was bad enough when Harry Reid attacked our military commanders. It was worse when the number three Democrat in the House said that good news in Iraq would be a ‘problem’ for Democrats. But neither could top Barack Obama’s offensive statement in New Hampshire that our men and women serving in Afghanistan are just ‘air-raiding villages and killing civilians.’ It is hard to imagine that anyone who aspires to be Commander in Chief would say such a thing about our brave men and women in uniform. Obama owes our armed forces an apology – today.” [emphasis added]
Powerful stuff, eh? But wait. Let's look an see what Obama REALLY said:
"We've got to get the job done there [in Afghanistan] and that requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there."
Big difference, eh? He said we have to do more than "just air-raiding villages." He didn't say that our troops are ONLY air-raiding villages. I know that it's a fine distinction, but does anyone REALLY believe that Duncan didn't pick up that distinction?
