Grrl, Local Democratic machines, ever crooked, used the money stolen from middle class America's public pension scheme to undertake a variety of giveaway programs. One of the most costly was public housing - giant highrise apartment complexes. Awarding the contracts of course is a favorite way Democrats pass illegal money between contractor and government official, so much of America's public pension fund ended up in the pockets of corrupt officials and crooked contractors who did over-priced and shoddy work. Some of these huge housing complexes lasted less than ten years before they were torn back down. It cost middle America a guaranteed pension and sucked dry the retirement funds of millions of hard-working retirees.
