Women, Hillary, and Pay Inequality

I listened to her discuss the LIFE LONG penalty women and their families pay for the wage inequality women suffer; not just now but into the future.

When they get ready to retire, they will STILL pay for having been cheated when they were young.

I've never heard another candidate of either party address this problem like Hillary did.

She gets it.

Bush - Saddam Behind 911

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The following is the text of the letter from President Bush to the speaker of the House and the president pro tempore of the Senate. It was sent Wednesday.
Dear Mr. Speaker: (Dear Mr. President:)
Consistent with section 3(b) of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107-243), and based on information available to me, including that in the enclosed document, I determine that:

(1) reliance by the United States on further diplomatic and other peaceful means alone will neither (A) adequately protect the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq nor (B) likely lead to enforcement of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq; and

(2) acting pursuant to the Constitution and Public Law 107-243 is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

The Clinton Rules Again and Again

Then there was this.....

Hillary appears on MSNBC's ''Morning Joe'' program and submits herself to interrogation by the former GOP congressman.

THREE TIMES he tries to pressure her into saying Sanders is not qualified. THREE TIMES Secretary Clinton REFUSES to fall for Scarborough's bait.

So how does it then appear in the right wing nation media?

''Hillary Rodham Clinton says Bernie Sanders is not qualified to be president.'' -
Kevin D. Williamson - National Review - http://www.nationalreview.com/article/433797/hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-not-qualified-presidency

It's the Clinton Rule of Journalism. Say any goddamned thing you want to say; as long as you say it about a Clinton.

FBI Director - Richweb Is Lying

This just in!

FBI DIRECTOR: Richweb is lying his ass off!

Hannity Admits It - He Goes Easier on Republicans

In a Media Matters piece, Brendan Karet, discusses an interivew Sean Hannity did, in which it admitted it -- if he could question Hillary, he'd be MUCH tougher on her than on a republican.

In an accompanying video, Hannity defended his softball interviews with Donald Trump and other candidates, claiming that ThinkProgress and RedState cherry-picked his interviews. Later Hannity admitted that he would interview Hillary Clinton “a hundred times harder than any Republican, because I believe the Republicans represent, and have a far better vision, one that I agree with, I just have less disagreement with them,” concluding "I'm not a journalist, I'm a talk show host."

We Saw It Coming

It's not like we didn't see this coming. Shortly after Manafort joined the Trump campaign, Eli Lake of Bloomberg News wrote, ''Trump just hired his next scandal.''

''His convention strategy is in the hands of a former lobbyist who's been linked to one corruption scheme after another.''

Timing of Debates

Imagine this scenario.

Chairman says, "Lets debate next Friday."

Whiner: "Can't; there is a ball game that night. Holding the debate that night would be biased against my candidate."

Chairman: "Your candidate is playing in that game and can't make the debate? He better get his priorities straight if he wants to be our nominee."

Whiner: "You just don't understand."

Chairman: "Okay, I'm listening; explain it."

Whiner: "It's just not fair."

Chairman: "Why?"

Whiner: "See? You just don't get it."

And so on and so forth.

Clinton Rules v Sanders Rules

Al Sharpton's interview with Jeff Weaver 4/10/2016

The Sanders campaign has a problem.

Just watched Sanders campaign advisor say that Sanders should be excused for voting YES on the 1994 crime bill -- because he stood on the floor and spoke out against mass incarceration.

So, naturally, the MSNBC host immediately fired back, "So Hillary can be excused for her Iraq Resolution vote since she spoke out on the Senate floor against attacking Iraq; right?"?

No, wait --- they didn't dare do that. They know Hillary must be held to a different standard and to bring that up would be against "The Clinton Rules of Journalism." That rule allows -- other congressman can be excused for voting FOR a bill or resolution if they also speak out against the parts they don't like -- and that's okay. But |NOT| Hillary Clinton; a different rule applies to her.

Random Notes

Jose Ba - "Maybe she never said the words, 'He is not qualified,' (And that is still to be determined.) But for months she's been implying . . . "

"That he's not qualified, even if she doesn't use the words," adds Washington Post's Ed O'Keefe.

Another Washington Post reporter, Philip Rucker, adds that Hillary has been "very careful in every word she says about Bernie Sanders."

MSNBC's "The Place for Politics" 4/7/2016

4/7/2016 10:57 AM - Joan Walsh - The problem "is this history of making slightly weird sexist remarks about Hillary Clinton." The Sanders campaign has said "her ambition is going to destroy the Democratic Party. . ."

[Question from host: "How is that sexist?"] Because, I think, the idea of women as ambitious is 'scary.' His ambition is great; your ambition (women's) is scary."

"And then saying she's not qualified which women have heard again and again and again, "You gotta be TWICE as qualified as a man to get the same job."

Unsoma: Bernie's been enjoying a free ride in the media; it's been cheer leading for him since last year.

But suddenly, he wanders into the interview with the Daily News and tanks. The tabloid media in NYC didn't get the memo about feeling the Bern. Rather than lifting him up; papering over what he said; turning it into a dig at Hillary like the main stream media does, it held him to account.

He's not used to that; and it shows.

Hillary Is Qualified

”Hillary is not qualified to be President”…has he been taking Bachmann/Palin stupid pills?

First Lady for 8 years, NY Senator for 2 terms, and Secretary of State for 4 years: Served on five Senate committees: Committee on Budget (2001–2002), Committee on Armed Services (2003–2009), Committee on Environment and Public Works (2001–2009), Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (2001–2009), Special Committee on Aging. She helped prevent boots on ground in Syria, Libya, vital in getting Iran to give up their Nuclear Weapons Program, part of Obama’s team that killed Bin Laden, she visited over 112 countries and traveled over a million miles repairing the reputation of the US, brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, champion for human rights, internet freedom, and rights and opportunities for women and girls, LGBT people and young people all around the globe. Among the awards she has received are:

(1) the Elie Wiesel Foundation Humanitarian Award;

(2) the Martin Luther King Jr. Award;

(3) Family Circle Woman Who Makes a Difference Lifetime Achievement Award;

(4) National Federation of Black Women Business Owners, Black Women of Courage Award;

(5) National Association of Elementary School Principals Distinguished Service Award;

(6) Save the Children Distinguished Service Award, The National Council for Adoption, ''For advocacy on behalf of adoption''; (7) Henrietta Szold Award, Hadassah; (8) the Irish American Peace Prize; (9) the United Arab Emirates Health Foundation Award for her work in Health & Social Welfare; (10) Lifetime Achievement Award for her work and support of the children of Chernobyl; and (11) the Mother Theresa Award for her humanitarian efforts following the Kosovo War. And Bernie re-named 2 post offices in his 30 something years of establishment service…wow!

Sanders Caught in a Whopper

From Washington Post's Fact Checker:

"Sanders is putting words in Clinton’s mouth. She never said “quote unquote” that he was not qualified to be president. In fact, she diplomatically went out of her way to avoid saying that . . "

Sanders "can’t slam her for words she did not say." . . . Official Liar Pants on Fire rating . . . "Three Pinocchios"

Vote Suppression

"Over the past several years Republican lawmakers, citing concerns of voter fraud and of electoral calculations, have introduced voting restrictions in dozens of states, limiting polling hours, requiring difficult-to-acquire forms of identification, closing polling stations in minority neighborhoods, gerrymandering unapologetically. In doing so, they have reinforced an antidemocratic and often racist image. These lawmakers mostly insist that they press these laws to protect against voter fraud, but some will admit to the underlying truth: The pieces of legislation are aimed at groups that vote for the other party." - Nicole Hemmer - US NEWS - March 10, 2015

NYTIMES Letters to the Editor

Bob Somberby at The Daily Howler turned us on to this from the NYTIMES Letters to the Editor.

To the Editor:

Bernie Sanders’s newest strategy is to claim that he is behind in delegates because he is so virtuous. Hogwash. Mr. Sanders has made personal attacks on Hillary Clinton from the get-go. He has attacked her “judgment” by claiming that she voted for war in Iraq, when that vote was to give President George W. Bush the bargaining chip that he had asked for. In fact, in her speech on that resolution, she advised against going to war.

And he insults her in the worst way by claiming that she will favor the companies that paid her to give speeches. Citing Mr. Sanders’s votes on gun control is based on facts; making accusations as Mr. Sanders does on the Wall Street speeches is based on assumptions: There’s a difference.

Mrs. Clinton is ahead on delegates and votes because she is eminently qualified to be president, with realistic plans for governing; Mr. Sanders’s experience is limited to representing a small New England state with radical, “pie in the sky” ideas, which he repeats ad nauseam.

Now that he has a taste of adulation, he is more than willing to go negative. He may have once wanted to run a positive campaign, but that attitude is long gone.

US Troops Behead Iraqi Children

Yes, the US DOES behead children.

'''I don't know where Fatima and my mom were. Siham got hit. She died. I saw Zohra's head gone. I lost consciousness,'' said Moza, covering her mouth with the end of her headscarf. '

'''One of them was my daughter,'' Nawaf told The Associated Press. ''I found her a few steps from the house, her two-year-old son Raad in her arms. Her one-year-old son, Raed, was lying nearby, missing his head.'' ' -

Why photo IDs?

Coors: The better question is, ''Why require a photo ID for voting when the old IDs worked just fine?''

No one can come up with an answer that will stand up to logical scrutiny.

Palerider
dosset ''stricter'' means what? 4918 PM: Doss [Quote] -- 1:11pm -- Fri, Apr 1, 16 pst

Pale: You may have noticed that I answered your question.

Now it's your turn.

Why should states require MORE IDs than they did in the past when it comes to voting?

4941 PM: Palerider [Quote] -- 1:29pm -- Fri, Apr 1, 16 pst

Palerider
dosset ok, photo ID, that's simply keeping up to date with ID standards.
For example, my first driver's license had no photo. It had been good for
decades, but the standards changed and now a photo is ubiquitous. There's
no logical reason it should nit be he same for this case

4948 PM: Palerider [Quote] -- 1:34pm -- Fri, Apr 1, 16 pst

Palerider
dosset New standards, just as states started requiring driver's licenses
have photos when they didn't before. Again, it's logical that standards
are up to date with the times just as it is with driver's licenses

So, back to the question.

Why should states impose restrictive ID requirements ABOVE what has worked VERY WELL for literally generations?

No one can offer an answer that will stand up to scrutiny.

4998 PM: Doss [Quote] -- 2:05pm -- Fri, Apr 1, 16 pst

Palerider
dosset another strawman, I didn't say it's logical because it's logical
Indeed, you didn't use those very words.... you argued that ''it's logical.'' Plus, you offered that there is no logical reason it should NOT be required.

I put the lie to both those claims.

I explained to you the logical reason photo IDs should NOT be required; and I pointed out to you that there IS NO logical reason for imposing stricter ID requirements on voters; this part of my claim is born out by your inability to offer any logic other than ''it's logical.''

More on the Clinton Rules

More on the Clinton Rules of Journalism:

Mark Preston, CNN Political Analyst, on Sanders claim that Hillary accepts money from the fossil fuel industry:

"I do think it’s kind of a false way of answering the question to say that the campaign is not taking money. |The campaign in fact is not taking money|, but her Super PAC is taking money. They haven’t disavowed the Super PAC or told them not to take that money. So it's a little bit of he said she said. But the fact of the matter is she is getting money from that industry.” [emphasis added by doss] . . . "At This Hour With Berman and Bolduan" --- CNN - April 1, 2016

______________

Try to sort that one out.

CNN analyst ADMITS what the Clinton campaign is saying is "in fact" true! The campaign is NOT taking money from the fossil fuel industry; but in the same breath, he says HIllary IS "getting money from that industry."

The Clinton Rules of Journalism apply here. Even though what the Clinton campaign says is "in fact" true, "it's a kind of false way" of telling the truth!

Yes, you read right!

Under the Clinton Rules of Journalism, the Sanders camp is CORRECT in spreading falsehoods about Hillary; and Hillary is being "kind of false" when she tells the truth.
