Corporations, Profits, and Inflation


President Biden often is blamed for inflation. The Kansas City Fed, though, has looked into the matter and determined that most of the inflation is because of corporate profit taking. This is from NPR:

"In the past, corporate profit growth accounted for maybe a third of inflation. But a report from the Kansas City Fed found that nearly 60% of inflation in 2021 was because of corporate profits."

If presidents set grocery prices, why didn't Trump make a loaf of bread cost a nickel?
