When They Won't Answer Questions

I had students like that. I'd send them to the Dean; I'd call ahead and explain. ''He doesn't appear to have the intellect, the curiosity, the interest, the breadth of knowledge, or the willingness to engage in the marketplace of ideas. His presence in my class will be a distraction; and it is my estimation that he simply isn't prepared to be a constructive part of this seminar. Perhaps there are some gym classes that might suit him better.''
